Acts 4:12

Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

Picture Peter, standing before the most powerful religious authorities of his day, boldly declaring that rescue—true, lasting rescue—never comes through any other name but Jesus (Acts 4:12). He isn’t just talking about the healing of a crippled man, but something far more vital: the spiritual and eternal salvation that every heart longs for. Scripture tells us plainly that Christ is the promised Redeemer, the One who alone has power to pull us out from under the burdens of sin, the grip of Satan, and the condemning voice of the law (Romans 8:2). This hope can’t be dug out of our own good intentions, religious practices, or lineage—it can’t be found in ourselves, in any angel or human leader, in morality, or in ancient tradition (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Across the world and beneath the sky—under every system and across every culture—no other name stands or can stand in place of Jesus. Not the famous or powerful, not beloved ministers or even respected Christian family lines; not even the armies of heaven’s angels compare (Philippians 2:9-11). Only Jesus—His person, His blood shed for us, and His unshakable righteousness—opens the door of salvation. This name has been freely given by the Father, offered in surprising love, and Jesus Himself has willingly been the sacrifice for us (John 3:16). That’s the good news heralded to all people, everywhere.

You might wonder if some secret path or good deed could open another route, but God’s loving plan has always been simple and sure. He calls us to trust not in ourselves, but in the Savior He appointed—the only way, the living way. If you are saved, you are saved by Him, and by Him alone (John 14:6). What solid comfort! When you feel uncertain, let this truth be your anchor: Jesus is more than enough, and no one who leans on Him will ever be turned away.
