Matthew 19:26
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
When Jesus looked at His disciples, He saw not just their faces but the genuine fear and uncertainty behind their questions (Matthew 19:26). He knew their hearts were troubled at the thought that rich men, so respected in their culture, might struggle to enter God’s kingdom. With love and understanding, Jesus spoke words to lift their burden: “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Here’s what’s so profound—what seems hopeless from a human perspective is never outside the reach of God’s power and grace (Mark 10:27). A camel passing through the eye of a needle was as absurd as convincing a heart tangled in wealth to turn willingly to God. But with God, such miracles become reality. He can loosen the tightest grip on earthly treasures and replace it with joy in eternal riches. The Lord alone can show someone their need for Christ, soften a hard heart, and give courage to surrender even what is most cherished (Luke 18:27).
This isn’t just about wealth. It’s also about any circumstance where you feel outnumbered, unimportant, or ill-equipped—where victory feels impossible by any natural means. God is able to shield, strengthen, and guide His people, no matter what powerful forces seem to be against them. He can make the least likely candidate the most fruitful disciple and carry us safely through every trial, until His purposes are complete.
Take comfort: What we cannot do on our own, God can do in us and through us. The road may look impossible, but there is no heart He cannot change and no situation He cannot redeem. Trust that His power works best where our strength ends.
