Galatians 6:9
Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
From time to time, we all feel the weight of helping others—whether it’s lending a hand to someone in need, giving generously to those who preach the gospel, or simply doing the right thing day after day. The apostle’s encouragement is gentle but clear: don’t let yourself grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). Good works aren’t just outward efforts; they spring from deep love for God, carried out in faith and leaning on Christ’s strength. Whether it’s a quiet act of kindness or supporting God’s servants behind the scenes, such efforts are precious to Him (Hebrews 13:16).

It’s natural to grow tired when help goes unseen, when thanks are rare, or when needs seem endless. Sometimes circumstances change, resources run thin, and those we try to help are, at times, ungrateful or undeserving (2 Thessalonians 3:13). But God sees every faithful sowing. The “due time” may not line up with our schedules; harvest seldom comes the moment seeds touch the ground. The One who designed both the farming seasons and the rhythms of grace reminds us that, in His time and way, we will reap a sure harvest (Ecclesiastes 11:1; James 5:7). Sometimes the rewards are enjoyed in this life, through fresh joy, renewed strength, or even material blessing. But the greater, lasting harvest is found in the life to come—eternal life and being welcomed into God’s presence (Matthew 25:21).
If you feel overlooked, tempted to give up, or burdened by the slowness of results, remember the farmer: he waits in hope, trusting the process. Don’t lose heart if you don’t see fruit right away. Your labor in the Lord is never wasted (1 Corinthians 15:58). In time, you’ll discover God was at work all along, growing a harvest more precious than you imagined.
