Nevertheless, God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord must turn away from iniquity.”

When everything around us feels uncertain or unstable, God’s foundation remains solid and unmoved (2 Timothy 2:19). The faith that truly saves—the God-given faith found in His chosen—rests on this deep, immovable groundwork. It isn’t a passing feeling or a shallow belief that crumbles when hardships come, but a sure trust sustained by God’s power and Christ’s ongoing intercession (Hebrews 12:2; Romans 8:34). False teaching can easily shake flimsy convictions, but cannot topple what God Himself has built (Matthew 7:24-25).

Whether we think of the resurrection of Christ as the cornerstone of our hope (1 Corinthians 15:14), or God’s eternal choice to bring people into His family, the truth stands safe from every assault (Ephesians 1:4-5). He does not leave His work unfinished or lose track of even a fragment of His own—our souls and our bodies are safe in His keeping, assured of resurrection at the final day (John 6:39). The faith, hope, and security of every believer rest not on their own effort, but upon God’s unchanging love and purpose.

There is a comfort sealed to every child of God: “The Lord knows those who are His” (2 Timothy 2:19). This “seal” is God’s personal guarantee—a mark of distinction and protection, confirming His commitment to us. It is not based on any goodness He foresaw in us, but springs from His own everlasting love (Romans 8:29), sealing us as His treasured people. Just as in ancient times a seal marked something as authentic and secure, so God’s people are kept safe—set apart, even when others fall away.

Therefore, everyone who bears the name of Jesus is called to turn away from wrongdoing—not just from false teaching, but from any way of living that dishonors Christ (Numbers 16:26; Ephesians 5:11). Stand firm in faith, holding fast to the One who knows you completely and will never let you go.
