Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!

Let’s pause and really take in the scene the psalmist sets before us: “How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity” (Psalm 133:1). The beauty here isn’t just in the idea, but in real, lived-together harmony. Imagine, for a moment, families, friends, or a church—different people with different backgrounds—living with genuine peace and affection toward one another. This isn’t something casual or ordinary; it’s so precious that God calls us to stop and notice it. “Behold,” He says—see what’s truly special.

When believers truly dwell together “in unity”—serving, forgiving, praying, helping, and worshiping with one heart—it is both good and pleasant. It is good because it follows God’s will and the new command Jesus gave us: to love one another (John 13:34-35). It is pleasant—not just to us, but to God, the angels, all who watch, and all who belong. It’s like a foretaste of heaven itself, a preview of eternal joys where discord is gone and perfect love reigns.
