Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.

Sometimes our worries creep in quietly—household concerns, job pressures, anxious midnight thoughts about what tomorrow might bring. The invitation from Scripture is simple, yet stunning: “Cast all your care upon Him, because He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7). Here, we’re echoing the ancient song that calls God’s people to throw their burdens onto His broad, capable shoulders (Psalm 55:22).

Notice, this verse doesn’t suggest we stop wisely planning or tending to our responsibilities. God’s people are never told to abandon daily diligence or the “use of means.” Rather, we’re gently steered away from anxious, fretful care. Our loving Father doesn’t want us weighed down by relentless fear, whether about our physical needs—food, clothing, shelter—or the deep concerns of our souls (Matthew 6:31–32). We are called to trust Him enough to place those cares in His hands, with confidence that the same God who clothes the lilies and feeds the sparrows will also look after us.

God cares for each of us far more than we sometimes dare to believe. Through Christ, He has already provided for our greatest need—the salvation of our souls and the promise of eternal life (Hebrews 7:25). His watchful care covers both the practical matters of our lives and the eternal destiny of our hearts. He won’t leave us wanting, nor will He withhold anything truly good from His children (Romans 8:32).

So lift up your worries, and place them with the One who has made your well-being His delight. Come to Him not with hesitation, but with hope—knowing that no burden is too heavy, no concern too small for a loving Father who invites us to rest in His unshakable care.
