Psalm 1:6
For the Lord guards the path of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
There’s a deep comfort in knowing that the Lord sees not just the outward details of our lives but the very path our hearts are set upon. The psalmist tells us that God knows the way of the righteous (Psalm 1:6). This “knowing” is much more than simple awareness or observation. It is a warm, personal approval—the kind of attention a loving father gives to his child’s first hesitant steps.
Those who walk by faith, trusting in Christ, come to the Father with confidence—not in their own efforts, but in the finished work of Jesus (Hebrews 10:19-22). Their prayers and praises, however faltering, are welcomed for His sake (Ephesians 2:18). To “walk in the way of the righteous” is to follow Christ: denying ourselves, seeking the things that please God, and relying on His Spirit rather than our flesh (Romans 8:4). God doesn’t just notice such a life—He delights in it, looks upon it with favor, and causes it to flourish.
The opposite is also true. While God sees every path people take, He does not approve of the way that leads away from Him. The way of the ungodly, no matter its short-lived success, is a road to loss and ruin. To walk that path is to reject the very One who offers life and joy (Matthew 7:13-14).
If you find yourself longing to be known, rest assured—God knows those who trust Him. He cherishes every step you take by faith, no matter how small, and leads you along a path that ends in everlasting gladness. The journey of righteousness is blessed, not because it is always easy, but because it is watched over, loved, and crowned with God’s favor (Psalm 37:23-24).
